Martekio helps brands understand how AI assistants talk about them. To do that, we handle your account, your tracked prompts, and the AI answers we collect. This page explains where that data lives, how we protect it, and how we comply with the GDPR.
Hosted in the EU
The Martekio platform and its data run on Google Cloud in the European Union.
GDPR Compliant
We follow the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, under the supervision of the CNIL.
You Own Your Data
Your data stays yours. We only use it to provide and improve the service for you.
No Personal Data Sent to AI
The queries we send to AI assistants cover brands, products and topics, not people.
Where Your Data Lives
Martekio is hosted on Google Cloud in the European Union, including our application servers, our database and its backups. Google Cloud encrypts data at rest by default.
Product analytics and session recordings run on the EU instances of Mixpanel and PostHog.
To measure how AI assistants describe your brand, we send your tracked prompts to AI providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Microsoft, Perplexity and xAI), directly or through specialist data providers. Some of these process the prompts outside the EU. The prompts cover brands, products and topics and contain no personal data.
Our marketing website, martekio.com, is hosted by Framer B.V. in the Netherlands.
What Data We Process
Account data: the name, company name, and email address of each user.
Billing data: handled by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers.
Analysis data: the brands, competitors, and prompts you track, the answers AI assistants return, the sources they cite, and the metrics we calculate from them.
Usage data: technical information such as IP address and browser type, and how you use the app, including session recordings, used for security and to improve the product.
We do not sell any of this data, and we do not use it to train AI models.
How We Query AI Assistants
Martekio measures how brands appear in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews. We reach some of these assistants directly and others through third-party data providers.
The queries we send are about brands, products, and topics. They do not include your account details or other personal data. What the assistants answer is generated by their providers, and we store those answers for you to analyze over time.
Retention & Deletion
Analysis data is kept for 365 days by default. Your plan may set a different period, and we can agree a shorter one with you on request. After that, it is archived: it no longer appears in Insights, reports, exports or the API, and is no longer used in your metrics.
Internal Log Data is deleted outright rather than archived.
Account data is kept while your account is open and erased on request when it closes, apart from records we must keep for legal, tax or fraud-prevention reasons.
Inactive accounts, with no login and no active subscription for three years, are deleted.

How We Protect Your Data
Data is encrypted in transit between your browser, our API, and our servers.
Data is encrypted at rest on Google Cloud.
Access to customer data is limited to the people who need it to run and support the service.
Each client workspace is kept separate, so users only see the Spaces they have been given access to.
Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe and never touch our servers.
GDPR & Your Rights
Martekio is the data controller for the personal data described in our Privacy Policy. We process it on a clear legal basis, such as our contract with you, our legal obligations, our legitimate interests, or your consent.
You can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export your personal data, or object to how we use it. Write to us at contact@martekio.com and we will reply within one month. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL.
When a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, the transfer is protected by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or, for certified US providers, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Subprocessors
We work with a small number of trusted providers to run Martekio:
Google Cloud: platform hosting and database (European Union).
Stripe: subscription billing and payments.
Mixpanel: product analytics (EU instance).
PostHog: product analytics and session recording (EU instance).
Framer: website hosting and the website contact form.
Google Analytics: website analytics, only with your consent.
Google Search Console: search ranking data you choose to connect. Once imported, it is stored in our EU region.
AI assistants and data providers: receive brand, product and topic queries only, with no personal data. Some process these queries outside the EU.
